All gas and flame flashbacks are caused by an alteration in the balance between the gas mixture's exit velocity and the combustion velocity. These valves prevent gas and flame flashback during welding operations.
In accordance with European standard EN 730-1, the valves must be marked with:
- the valve model
- the manufacturer's name or abbreviation
- the reference standard number (EN 730-1)
- the functions provided by the valve (FA for flame arrestor, NV for non-return valve)
- the gas type (abbreviation) for which the valve was designed
The label color is also differentiated to further identify the valves immediately and thus facilitate installation and maintenance.
