DESCRIPTION:
Don't forget the "U/V" sign when selecting your U/V lamp.
Ultraviolet (U/V) tracers are specifically formulated to fluoresce in the presence of U/V light rays. From this
are the common trade names of the two main products that use this technology: "U/V" and "U/V" lamps.
Referring to the table above, you can see that true "U/V" is invisible to the human eye, while visible light colors
then come violet and blue respectively. The overall U/V light intensity decreases as you move
from invisible U/V light to violet, then blue and so on. far down the table. Care must be taken not to confuse a lamp that emits
high intensity visible blue light, and consider it better with a brighter lamp. effectively set to emit true U/V light.
Here's why BLUE is NOT necessarily okay
A properly tuned ultraviolet (U/V) lamp should emit mainly invisible U/V light waves, with only one
visible "violet" or "blue light trail." The small amount of visible light is necessary to direct the user's gaze to
the leak search area, while the invisible U/V light beams concretely illuminate the tracer leak. Lamps that
emit large amounts of visible blue light have been widely marketed as more effective products. powerful and effective for
making leaks fluoresce, based on an obviously higher perception of visible light. Be aware that U/V tracers
require real invisible U/V light rays to actually fluoresce immediately contradicts this belief.
In fact, special "anti-blue" glasses must be used with these high blue output lamps. to eliminate the tone noise. of
blue light from the user's vision during the leak detection process. Otherwise, the high luminous flux will cover the surface. the loss
or the tracer that fluoresces.
