In accordance with the new European regulation no. 517/2014 concerning F-Gas, from January 1, 2015 the purchase/sale of Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases* (HFC refrigerant gases) will be subject to meeting the requirements prescribed in the regulation (personal license/company certification).

Specifically, all end-users who purchase F-gas for personal installation, assistance, and maintenance (e.g., refrigeration technicians, heating engineers, garages, etc.) can only do so if they hold the "license," which they must present at the time of purchase (Art. 11, point 4).

The seller has the obligation to record, in a specific register, the name, license number, and quantity of gas purchased by the customer.

Those who do not carry out professional installation, assistance, and maintenance activities (e.g., resellers, transporters, etc.) will not be obligated to purchase with a license but, at the time of purchase, they will need to complete a declaration stating, under their own responsibility, the use they will make of the purchased gas.
