In accordance with the new European regulation no. 517/2014 concerning F-Gas, from January 1, 2015, the purchase/sale of Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases* (HFC refrigerant gases) will be subject to meeting the requirements prescribed in the regulation (personal license/company certification).

More specifically, all end-users who purchase F-gas for personal installation, assistance, and maintenance (e.g., refrigeration technicians, heating engineers, garages, etc.) can only do so if they hold a "license," which they must present at the time of purchase (Art. 11, point 4).

The seller is obliged to record, in a specific register, the name, license number, and quantity of gas purchased by the customer.

Those who do not carry out professional installation, assistance, and maintenance activities (e.g., resellers, transporters, etc.) will not be obliged to purchase under license, but at the time of purchase, they must complete a communication in which they declare, under their own responsibility, the use they will make of the purchased gas.
