Icma 609 - 1" Anti-freeze Valve
for heat pumps with threaded connections
Description:
Anti-freeze valve for heat pumps. Maximum operating pressure: 10 bar. Ambient temperature range: -40 °C to +60 °C. Maximum operating temperature: 65 °C (fluid temperature). Minimum operating temperature: 0 °C (fluid temperature).
Function:
The Icma anti-freeze valve is designed to protect heat pumps in particularly low outdoor temperatures. When the heat pump remains inactive for an extended period, the heat transfer fluid can approach its freezing point, risking damage due to freezing. This can occur, for example, during prolonged power outages (blackouts or power failures). Although the fluid temperature does not drop below 3 °C during normal pump operation, it is important to monitor system pressure in the event of a power outage. The anti-freeze valve automatically intervenes and drains the heat transfer fluid when its temperature drops below 3 °C, preventing ice formation in the circuit and reducing the risk of damage to sensitive components such as heat exchangers and pipes. Once the fluid temperature rises back to 4 °C, the valve closes, restoring the system's seal. In addition, the valve's nickel plating treatment prevents corrosion due to exposure to atmospheric agents, thus ensuring a long service life and reliable operation.
